Life is a beautiful journey, filled with twists, turns, and surprises. For much of my life, I've navigated this path with the grace of a dancer, enjoying the lightness that came with being thin. But as the years passed, my journey took a different route, one that led to a destination I never anticipated.
I am a proud mother, and the love I have for my two children knows no bounds. It's a love that's deep and everlasting, a love that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. Yet, this beautiful journey of motherhood brought about changes in my life, including changes in my body.
After the joys of childbirth, my weight began its slow but steady ascent, rising to 90 kilograms. While the number on the scale doesn't define me, it does tell a story—one of love, sacrifice, and the ebb and flow of life.
I'm no stranger to the fact that my dietary choices played a role in this transformation. In my late twenties, I didn't always make the wisest decisions when it came to what I put on my plate. The consequences of those choices have manifested themselves in my early forties, and it's time for me to take control of my journey once again.
As I walk this path, I'm not alone. Chronic knee pain and occasional backaches remind me of the physical toll my choices have taken. Insomnia, an unwelcome companion, casts its shadow on my days. But these challenges only serve as motivation to change the course of my journey.
Now, I stand at the crossroads of my life, ready to embark on a transformative adventure. Over the next three months, I'll undertake a journey of dry and wet fasting, embrace a healthier way of eating, and commit to regular exercise. My goal is not just to shed the weight that has accumulated but to rekindle the flames of vitality and well-being that have always burned within me.

Day 1: A Journey to Wellness 🌟

Last night, under the gentle glow of the moon, I embarked on a new chapter in my life—my path to transformation.
- 7th September 2023.
Sahoor (5 am):
🌅 The world was still asleep as I sipped on hot water, a ritual to cleanse my body and mind and prepare me for the day ahead. I embraced a dry fast until 6:42 pm, a testament to my determination.
Nourishing Feast (6:42 pm):
🍽️ A symphony of flavors awaited me. A plate of fragrant fried rice, adorned with succulent peppered chicken, warmed my senses. A small bowl of comforting cow tail pepper soup added depth to my journey. A refreshing lemon water cleansed my palate.
Fitness Odyssey (7:30 pm): After savoring my meal, I embarked on a treadmill adventure. For 19 minutes, I challenged my limits:
- 🏞️ First, a brisk walk at 4-4.5 km/hr on flat terrain, igniting my spirit.
- 🏔️ Then, a climb at 4.5 km/hr with a 6% incline, symbolizing my ascent towards my goals.
- ⛰️ Lastly, a steep climb at 12% incline, a reminder of the obstacles I'll conquer.
Evening Snack (10 pm):
☕ To end the day, I ate 4 bananas 🍌 and a small bowl of fruit salad:
My total for the day would be:
- Fried rice and peppered chicken: 600-800 calories
- Cow tail pepper soup: 150-200 calories
- Lemon water: Negligible calories
- Bananas and fruit salad: 470-580 calories
- Treadmill exercise: 100-150 calories (caloric expenditure)
